My Story

Hello, we are Lina East Acupuncture, and I am Sofia.

My path into Traditional Chinese Medicine comes from a deeply personal place. For years, I struggled with chronic, unexplained health issues and what I later came to understand as undiagnosed endometriosis and PMDD. I often felt disconnected from my own body, unsure where to turn or who to trust. I was searching for answers, but instead found myself dismissed, overlooked, and left feeling like my symptoms were “normal” or insignificant.

During that time, I experienced chronic daily pain, cyclical depression, and a profound sense of being misunderstood within the medical system. Even when I sought help, I was met with uncertainty, gaslighting, and a lack of meaningful direction.

In an effort to understand what was happening to me, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Biology. Eventually, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and PMDD—but I still lacked a clear path toward relief.

That changed when I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine. I found a practitioner who listened, truly saw my experience, and offered an approach that finally made sense of what my body had been communicating for years. That experience transformed my health and my life; ultimately led me to become a board certified herbalist and licensed acupuncturist specializing in reproductive and sexual health.
